All Malaysian can have their @1Malaysia @myemail.my email account soon. This is very interesting. I would love to have one too.
According to our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, all malaysians who are 18 years old and above will be assigned an email account each in order to receive statements, bills and notices from the Government, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Purpose of this 1Malaysia email is to allow direct and secure communication between public and Government.
By the way, Tricubes Bhd CEO Khairun Zainal Mokhtar is responsible for developing this 1Malaysia Email project in collaboration with Microsoft, which will also include social network service, online bill checking, and payment. According to Tribubes, the project will be ready by the end of July April.
I’m sure minority of Malaysian doesn’t really like this idea especially when it involves RM50 million just to run this project. However, 1 Malaysia email is not compulsory for all Malaysians and 1 Malaysia email is a private sector led initiative by Tricubes Berhad with the investment from the company and NOT the government, said Pemandu through its etp_roadmap Twitter.

No matter where the source of money comes from, in my opinion, this is unnecessary and waste of money.
“The communications content and infrastructure NKEA is also kick-starting a government initiative to provide a unique and official email account and identification for citizens of Malaysia,” said Najib.
The 1 Malaysia email service is part of Najib’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to achieve developed nation status by 2020.
He said that the RM50 million investment would have a GNI impact of RM39 million up to 2015. Further, the 1 Malaysia email initiative will allow direct and secure communications between Malaysian citizens and government as well as enhance delivery of public services
