VAIO W, Sony’s first netbook, the whatlaptop website of the UK has done one of the world’s first reviews of the device.
1. This petite 10.1” notebook boasts of Intel Processor N280, 1 GB RAM, Hard Disk of 160 GB storage space and is cordial with Windows XP. This mini Laptop has a full screen on one side with a resolution of 1366 x 768 compared to the usual 1024 x 600 of the majority of other netbooks on the market.
2. Screen’s colour and contrast is excellent, and picture is very sharp.
3. Chiclet keyboard is nice, although the reviewer prefers the keyboard on the Samsung N110.
4. The new VAIO W Series mini notebook PC that will come in three vibrant colors, berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown.
5. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth. The netbook includes also the VAIO Media plus Multimedia Streaming software that allows you to stream wirelessly across DLNA-enabled devices and video, music and pictures from your W Series to your PC or PLAYSTATION 3 and vice-versa.
6. The VAIO W runs Windows XP Home Edition. It will be released in August for about $500.
The device is worth US$499 (RM 1,785).
